ZEBOX–Orange Partnership: An Opportunity to Accelerate the Large-Scale Emergence of 5G Use Cases

Orange 5G Lab supports initiatives that help bring forth 5G use cases in demanding industrial contexts. In this framework, ZEBOX and Orange announce the signing of a strategic partnership aimed at scaling innovative technological solutions.

Created by the CMA CGM Group to support innovations beneficial to its industries—maritime, logistics, and media—ZEBOX will now leverage Orange’s digital capabilities (including infrastructure and platforms) to deploy large-scale tests within the CMA CGM Group and its partners’ environments.

Opportunities for New 5G Use Cases

Following an “end-to-end” approach, the partnership can support use cases where digital capabilities (connectivity, data, AI, platforms) enhance operational performance, such as:

  • Port operations and handling: real-time optimization of loading/unloading flows through connected data and edge processing.
  • Workplace safety and health: prevention and risk reduction via alerts based on near real-time data.
  • Logistics traceability: improved visibility of goods, equipment, and operational statuses through data architectures capable of processing large-scale events

Finally, this initiative has an international dimension: ZEBOX is present in several regions worldwide, which enhances the potential for testing and deploying use cases across different countries—aligning with the connectivity and industrialization challenges driven by 5G.
